Program Objectives
The aim of the program is to have extensive and up-to-date knowledge in the field of Surgical Nursing, research national and international developments, comprehend and exhibit the interdisciplinary team approach, plan and implement the pre-surgery, postsurgery
and post-surgery care of the surgical patient in a comprehensive manner, provide evidence-based care, and have professional and ethical values, able to use modern technology effectively in their professional practices, communicate effectively and
therapeutically with the surgical patient and their family, plan and implement scientific research in the field, analyze the data obtained and report it in line with the nursing process, publish in national and/or international journals, or to train
knowledgeable, competent and competent specialist nurses who can present their studies in a scientific meeting.
Program Structure
Doğuş University Surgical Diseases Nursing Master's program consists of at least seven courses with a total of not less than twenty-one credits, a non-credit seminar course and thesis. "Seminar Course" and "Thesis Study" are non-credit and evaluated as
"successful" or "unsuccessful". A master's program with thesis consists of a total of at least 120 ECTS credits, including at least eight courses, including the seminar course, provided that it is not less than 60 ECTS credits in one academic year.
The student has to register for the thesis period of each semester, starting from the semester following the appointment of the advisor at the latest. The courses and the seminar must be completed in 4 semesters and the program in 6 semesters. Unregistered
semesters are also taken into account in the calculation of the maximum duration. An academic year consists of 2 semesters of 14 weeks each. In order for students to graduate, their grade point average must be at least 2.50.
