Aim of the Program

Teaching Language: Turkish

Existing trends in the world economy reveal that there is a need for an efficient logistics chain and the presence of qualified staff and activities which work in harmony and coordination in logistic chains will accelerate the development in trade efficiently. In this context, one of the most important sectors for the world economy is logistics. Companies have many opportunities in production and sale thanks to globalization. Nevertheless, there is still a need for an efficient logistics and supply chain management in order to distribute the right product or service under appropriate circumstances.

The fundamental determinant in making the logistics programmes at universities is the growing opportunities for the experts in logistics. The main reason why education of logistics has become a key point in the academic world is that there has been a gradual globalization of the business world with the helps of the evolution of international communication and transportation; and accordingly the need for a detailed logistics education which ranges from basic transportation to international logistics and logistic services.

Since the logistics education is dynamic and variable, only well integrated and efficient logistic programme can help students deal with business life and respond to the needs of the sector. Future logisticians need to learn analytic leadership skills with a wide focused and applied education. This education is not possible with graduate programmes which consider logistics as a by-issue. Doğuş University doctorate programme in Logistics and Supply Chain Management aims to fill the gap in this field of study in our country.

As a consequence, Doğuş University doctorate programme in Logistics and Supply Chain Management aims to successfully carry out the education of logistics with its efficient staff and research activities and supply the need for manpower which is considered to be lacking in the sector.
