The aim of this course is to provide students with basic knowledge and skills to participate in research in line with scientificresearch process and ethical principles, to take an active role, to use research results to improve nursing care. The Importance of Research and Evidence-Based Practices in Nursing, Historical Development of Nursing Research, Steps in the Research Process, Determination of Research Topic, Literature Review Process, Theoretical Framework, Research Purpose, Research Questions, Hypotheses and Limitations, Qualitative Research Designs, Quantitative Research Designs, Population and Sampling in Research, Data Collection Methods and Tools, Validity and Reliability of Data Collection Methods, Data Analysis, Reporting and Interpretation of Research, Publishing Process of Research, Ethical Principles in Nursing Research will be covered in the course.

 

The aim of this course; Meeting the preoperative preparation, follow-up and care practices of the surgical patient in the perioperative period, meeting the specified care standards within the framework of high-evidence information and in line with the nursing process, predetermining and preventing the risks and dangers in the operating room environment, taking the necessary safety precautions, using advanced technology in the treatment and care practices during the surgical intervention to acquire relevant knowledge and skills. Physical Structure of the Operating Room and Intelligent Operating Room Systems, Introduction to Operating Room Nursing, Patient Safety and Its Importance in the Operating Room (Patient safety culture, Factors that threaten patient safety, Wrong patient, region and procedure, Foreign body forgetting, Electrical and chemical factors, Tissue samples), Operating Room Staff Safety (safe patient lifting and transport, tripping, slips and falls, sharps-drill safety and contamination risk, Protective equipment , contact with anesthetic gas wastes) will be covered in the course.

The aim of this course is the transfer of the basic principles that will enable the master thesis to be written in accordance with scientific rules. Within the scope of the course, the principles of scientific research and important issues in writing the thesis will be discussed.

 

The aim of this course is to teach the students the basic concepts of emergency surgical nursing, ethical issues, the duties,authorities and responsibilities of the emergency surgical nurse, triage and diagnosis of the emergency surgery patient, keeping records and reports, collecting data and identifying problems, planning and evaluating care for priorities and applying them in emergency situations. to gain skills. Principles of Emergency Nursing, Ethical and Legal Issues in Emergency Nursing, Education in Emergency Nursing, Patient Triage and Documentation, Professional Practices in Emergency Nursing, Emergency Patient Diagnosis Tools and Systems Diagnosis, Life Period Specific Diagnosis, Emergency Patient Transfer, Protective Strategies for Improving Emergency Patient Health Outcomes, Duties, Authorities and Responsibilities of Emergency and Trauma Surgery Nurse will be covered in the course.

The aim of this course; Informing about the basic concepts of oncology nursing, teaching the treatment and care of cancer patients, developing the symptoms of cancer patients and the ability to analyze and apply the information about planning, application and evaluation of nursing care to prevent them. Cancer Development and Basic Applications, Treatment and Care in Cancer, Symptom Management in Cancer, Physical and Social Requirements of the Cancer Patient in the Terminal Period Care will be covered in the course.

The aim of this course is to raise individuals who recognize their own leadership characteristics, know the difference between a leader and a manager, can perceive the internal policy, power and authority balance, can solve problems, manage conflict, evaluate organizational justice practices, establish a team, evaluate the factors affecting absenteeism and turnover intentions. Individual Development Report (BGR) Preparation (Methods to be Followed in the Preparation of BGR, Evaluation Criteria), Concepts of Leadership and Manager, Leadership Theories (Examples of Leadership in Health Services), Communication, Mobbing , Leadership as an Influencing Process; Organizational Politics, Power and Authority, Motivation Concepts and Theories, Conflict Management, Organizational Culture, Differences Between Team and Group, Problem Analysis, Absenteeism and Factors Affecting Resignation will be covered in the course.

Students will prepare a thesis under the supervision of a faculty member by researching on a subject that is suitable for their academic foundations. The thesis should include the development of nursing care and practices related to the Surgical Nursing Program and should make an original contribution. Graduation candidates have to defend their thesis in front of a jury appointed by the program.
