Aim of the Programme
The Banking and Finance Master's Programme aims to provide undergraduate graduates who work or aim to work in financial institutions and finance departments of firms with the competencies related to the field.
The effectiveness and importance of all financial intermediary institutions, especially banks, in the national economies have been increasing over time. With the emergence of globalisation and technological developments in the world, especially the finance sector in our country has entered a significant change and transformation process. As a result of the institutionalisation and globalisation of banks and finance companies and the development and diversification of financial markets, the need for sector employees and professionals who meet the criteria of the age is increasing. It is observed that a large number of graduates with bachelor's degrees in different fields are turning to the banking sector. Although there are banking and finance programmes in some of the universities in Istanbul, most of these programmes provide distance education and there are a limited number of master's programmes that provide formal education.
Candidates who want to work in financial institutions must be successful in exams organised by the Capital Markets at different levels. The intensity of participation in the exams is the most important indicator of the interest in the sector. In this context, it is foreseen that the banking and finance master's programme planned to be opened will be in demand by undergraduate graduates aiming to be employed in the sector, and it is thought that the students who complete the programme will contribute to the sector by gaining the competencies suitable for the requirements of financial institutions.
