Aim of the Program

Aim of the Program

Considering the needs of our country, in order to increase the contribution of our university in technological developments, there is a need for educated human resources who have reached the level of knowledge above the undergraduate education, who think about technological issues, examine the problem and reveal a higher level of knowledge in solving the problem. Graduate education is of great importance in meeting this need.

Due to the fact that our country is in an active earthquake zone, civil engineers who are competent in this field and have advanced analysis skills are needed more and more every day. With the opening of the graduate program, we can contribute to filling this gap and train engineers who will gain expertise in certain subjects needed.

The academic staff and laboratory facilities of our department have an important competence in water and marine structures. Our wave and current channel, which we have recently put into operation in our Çengelköy campus, is the only one among the foundation universities and one of the most important wave and current channels in our country in terms of its capacity and will play a major role in graduate and R&D studies. There is a need for a Master's degree in order to use all the laboratories of our department actively and to develop depending on the scientific studies to be carried out.

In the fields of Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering, we aim to provide postgraduate education to engineers with undergraduate degrees who can specialize in order to fill this need in our country.
