Courses

Discuss research methods, literature review, academic/conference paper preparation process

Materials and properties. Atomic bonding and arrangement. Structure of crystalline and non-crystalline materials. Structural imperfections. Atom movements. Elastic, plastic and viscoelastic deformation of materials. Equilibrium diagrams. Metals and their properties. Modification of properties of materials through changes in structure. Organic materials and their properties.

The course has been designed to provide statistical basis for statistical conclusions and decision making. The course includes point and interval estimation, hypothesis tests, chi square analysis, linear/ nonlinear regression and correlation techniques, variant analysis, factorial experiments, 2k factorial experiments and fractions, nonparametric statistics, index numbers, and time sequence analysis. Methods of typical product, price and demand which are used in decisions of effective and productive distribution channels management will be discussed in detail. Usage of statistical methods in solving the applied supply chain problems will be explained.

Cost measurement and control in engineering studies. Basic accounting concepts, income measurement, and valuation problems. Manufacturing cost control and standard cost systems. Capital investment, engineering alternatives, and equipment replacement studies.

Science definition and development, scientific research approach, literature analysis, research design, quantitative and qualitative research methods, data collection, points to be considered in order to make a successful presentation, presentations to be made within the scope of the thesis topic / own engineering field
